Fused Glass Art

Using a variety of techniques, we create fused and kiln-formed glass artwork.  We are always learning and experimenting to see what we can create.

After designing the pieces, the glass is fired in the kiln at fusing temperatures, which range from 1250 to 1700 degrees Fahrenheit, and then allowed to cool for at least 8 hours.  The technique we use for the piece will determine the number of firings - generally at least three to five firings are necessary to create and shape the final artwork.  On average, items spend around 20 hours in the kiln to achieve the desired outcome.

The fun part for us is that we never quite know how the different glass colors and textures will react in the kiln.  Each time we open the kiln, we experience the same anticipation as we did the first time - each piece is unique and often the result is a total surprise.
